Espace MicroCaps is glad to invite you to its third post-COVID in-person event! With market volatility comes opportunities, and we are excited to showcase two high-conviction investment ideas that we like in the current market.

The cocktail will be held at Hotel Bonaventure, in the Ville-Marie ballroom, on Thursday, June 16^th at 5:00pm. Our events are the perfect occasion to improve your investing skills, discover new investment opportunities in the Canadian microcap space and network with like-minded investors.

The event will start with a keynote speech from Voicu Valentir, a professional trader with over 20 years of experience in the markets. Then, you will hear presentations from two companies that are long-time favorites of Espace MicroCaps. To begin, Renoworks Software (TSX-V: RW) will showcase how it modernizes the experience of shopping for a home renovation project. Secondly, Ackroo (TSX-V: AKR) will update us on its business and growth strategy after recent significant changes to its board of directors and shareholder base (IMPORTANT: See disclosure at the end of this article).

Keynote Speech: Voicu Valentir, Professional Trader

Voicu Valentir holds a master’s degree in financial engineering from HEC Montréal and the Derivative Market Specialist designation from the CSI. He worked for four years as an analyst and trader for a portfolio management firm specializing in technology before joining a major Canadian bank as a market maker for more than seven years. He accumulated an impressive track record at the bank by generating a positive return every month during the 90 months he was employed. In 2013, he started his own company, the Cavaliro Group, of which he is still the president today.

In his presentation, Voicu will provide us with a behind-the-scenes look at how stock markets work, how transactions are routed and executed, and who are the different stakeholders. He will also reveal some of the tools and strategies he uses to generate trading profits. Voicu does not only trade microcaps, but the presentation will certainly have a microcap flavor as he will try to help us better understand how to profit from lesser known and illiquid stocks!
