The presenting companies have been hand-picked based on the attractiveness of their business model, market opportunity and fundamentals.

Urbanimmersive (TSX Venture : UI)

Description: Based in Laval, Quebec, Canada, Urbanimmersive is a digital media corporation dedicated to the online real estate market. The Corporation provides marketing content production services and innovative technology solutions specifically designed to increase productivity and business revenues of its customers. The Corporation’s customers are primarily home builders, promoters, real estate brokers, brokerage agencies and real estate portal operators.

The opportunity: After struggling to keep the company afloat, Ghislain Lemire is starting to prove that Urbanimmersive digital solutions are relevant in today’s real estate brokerage market. The company’s new marketing and digital content creation platform was adopted by APCHQ, Re/Max Quebec and Centris. Even though the company is not currently profitable, the deployment of Urbanimmersive’s solutions to thousands of real estate brokers across its partners’ networks offers compelling growth and profitability prospects for this tiny company.

Lingo Media Corporation (TSX Venture : LM)

Description: Lingo Media is an EdTech company that is ‘Changing the way the world learns English’ through the combination of education with technology. The Company provides online and print-based solutions through its two distinct business units: ELL Technologies and Lingo Learning. ELL Technologies is a global English language learning online training and Assessment Company. Lingo Learning is a print-based publisher of English language learning programs in China.

Lingo Media has formed successful relationships with key government and industry organizations, establishing a strong presence in China’s education market of more than 300 million students. The Company is extending its global reach, with an initial market expansion into Latin America and continues to expand its product offerings and technology applications.

The opportunity: Like many companies in the microcap space, Lingo Media overcame lots of failures before reaching commercial success with its English language learning online training solutions. And we don’t see that as a negative, because success does not appear overnight; the road is oftentimes strewn with pitfalls and important lessons.

After completely rewriting their online platform in 2014 thanks to steady cash flows from the Lingo Learning division, 2015 rapidly confirmed the adoption of Lingo Media solutions in the marketplace. After 9 months, revenues almost tripled year over year  from $1.3M to $3.7M with a healthty net profit margin of 52%. Plus, Lingo Media recently announced a partnership with Telefónica in Peru. In short, the company has a lot of momentum right now and will be one to keep an eye on in 2016!

See you on Wednesday,

Philippe and Mathieu
